Effictiveness of Clicker Usage in A Small Upper Division Level Class
Presenter: Bih-Ru Lea, School of Management & Information Systems
Date: April 27, 2007
Although there has been little research on usage of clickers and student performance, professors claim attendance and class participation are on the rise and students appreciate the quick feedback in large classes where attendance and participation are difficult to maintain. This presentation will share the experience and preliminary results of clicker usage in a small upper division class using data collected from Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 courses. Specifically, this study will address (1) student performance differences with and without clicker usage, (2) students' attitude change toward clicker usage over time, and (3) effectiveness of using clickers in a small class setting.
